Cookie Gun
We are coming up on our 5th annual Cookie Exchange at church, I have been eyeing the confusing looking Cookie Guns. I finally went into one of our kitchen stores and purchased one.It really resembles a caulking gun for cookies. Actually, I know more about caulking that cooking. I let it sit in the box for 2 weeks, hemming and hawing about whether to bust that baby out, or just take it back, and make cookies the good ol' fashioned way. WELL, today, I decided to try it out. I was in the mood for lemon flavor, so, I went online and found a lemon Spritz Cookie recipe. I just had a bad feeling about it. I chose a design of cookie that I liked, filled the area of the gun that holds dough, and pointed the gun closely at the cookie sheet and OH MY GOSH! I was off! I love that little dude!! I made 12 dozen cookies in nothing flat!! You can change the design any time you'd like! You do have to have the dough at just the right consistency, which isn't hard to change, I just added more sugar when it got warm and wouldn't stick to the pan. Now, don't go getting all excited and throwing away all your other cookie equipment, because you can't make cookies that have extra ingredients like chocolate chips as they won't fit through the design, but these are pretty yummy! The only down size is that the gun only makes small girlie sized cookies, but, that just means you can eat more! Enjoy!

Closets, is organization that important?
I have a spare bedroom closet that I decided to use for office storage. I took out all shelves and hanger bars, and placed 2 bookshelves/racks side by side. I then removed the 2 sliding wood doors and hung various colors of sheets with rings to have several choices for backdrops for online auction pictures. It all seemed perfect, then, I took a full time outside the house job, and my closet became a catch all for all the junk I didn't want in the spare room when my son's friends came home from college with him. I am posting a pic of the closet before and see if it looks anymore organized when I'm finished cleaning and organizing it. I've dedicated a couple of huge boxes to Garage Sale items that I intend on having once my garage is organized, that is a whole 'nother blog post!
Sausage Gravy, Egg, Tator Tot Breakfast Bowls
Sausage Gravy/Tator Tots, and Cheese Egg Breakfast Bowls.
When I have the time, I go into cook-ahead mode and prepare meals to put in the freezer for my family to grab when they are in a hurry and on their way out the door. It's shocking that a local fast food here can sell these for whopping $3.59 a piece! Here is an EASY recipe for my version of them:
1 -28 oz. Bag of Tator Tots, prepared according to package directions. Bag says 9 servings, use your own taste.
1 Dozen Eggs- Scramble to your liking
1 Lb Breakfast Sausage Gravy- You could use whatever Sausage flavor you like, Mild, Hot, Turkey, or Chorizo for Mexican flavor. For instructions on making the "Best Gravy in the World" (According to my husband) please see my list of recipes.
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Salt and Pepper to your liking, keeping in mind that when I cook these ingredients separately, I salt and pepper each of them, with this recipe, I normally salt and pepper the gravy and let it carry over for the rest.
9 - 15 Ounce freezer/microwavable containers, I chose this size because it was the smallest that our local small Grocery store had in stock, you could go as large or small as you like.
I cook every item separately and allow to cool before layering, otherwise when the meal is heated up, it gets mooshy. (Is that really a word?)
I layer my cooled ingredients into the containers in the following order to keep the Tator Tots as crisp as I can:
Tator Tots on the bottom, eyeball 1 egg, then the Sausage Gravy and Chedder Cheese to your taste.
Cover and freeze.
When I heat these up in the microwave, it generally doesn’t take over 3 minutes to heat through when frozen.
This recipe is really so simple, you could replace ingredients with any you’d like.
If you want to get all Fancy Smanshy on a lazy weekend you could layer in Ramekins, stretch out a biscuit over the edges, brush with butter, heat till biscuit is browned. Turn out onto the little bisquit bowl.YUMMY!!
